Taking initiation as a Digambara is the highest form of abstinence. In the twentieth century, the Jain sage tradition was somewhat blocked, especially in North India. The nature of the monarchs who studied in the scriptures, the philosophy of it became impossible. This impossible was made possible by three great Acharyas, who are
- Acharya Adisagar Anklikar,
- Acharya Shanti Sagar (Charitra Chakraborty) and
- Acharya Shanti Sagar Chhani.
In this, the rise of both suns
Acharya Shanti Sagar (Charitra Chakravarti) and Acharya Shanti Sagar Chhani was synchronised. Today we get the privilege of seeing the monarchs by tradition and consider our birth to be blessed.
The walk of Life
What a coincidence in their names. Both the Acharyas have extended the Muni religion and the Muni tradition throughout India. Even in Vyabar (Rajasthan), the union of the two was also held together in Chaturmas.
Prashant Murti Acharya Shanti Sagar Ji Chharani (North) was born on Kartik Wadi Ekadashi Vikram Samvat 1975 (year 1979) in village Chhani District Udaipur (Rajasthan).
His childhood name was Kevaldas Jain. He tried to remove the evil practices in the society. After the death, he strongly opposed the practice of beating the chest, the dowry system, the sacrificial system, etc. The Zamindar of Chhani, after being influenced by his non-violence lectures, had banned violence in the state for ever and accepted the non-violence of Jainism
He wrote many books like Mularadhana, Agam Darpan, Shanti Shatak, Shanti Sudha Sagar etc., which were published by the society.
