Very important request - The Census of India will be held till *March 2027*. The Census Officer will meet you soon and collect the information.
When asked about your *mother tongue*, write Kannada or your language. Then when asked about the languages you know, please do not forget to include *Sanskrit* among the languages you know. Because even though we cannot speak Sanskrit, every Hindu uses Sanskrit words in *daily prayers, mantras, shlokas, pujas and rituals*.
Please note
*According to the last census*, the number of *Sanskrit speaking people* in the entire country is only 2 lakh. But the number of people who speak *Arabic and Persian* languages which no one speaks in the country is more than one crore and 15 crore people spoke Urdu at home. And they got *government grants and support* based on that number.
If *Sanskrit* is declared as a 'Lost Language', our *Ancient Scriptures, Vedas, Puranas* etc. will stop being published. We will be *cut off* from our cultural roots and eventually our worship methods will stop. Our festivals will be limited to playing *DJ* which is deadly to the ears and noisy.
*Sanskrit* is the *most ancient and mother of Indian languages of India, a simple and beautiful language*. Keeping Sanskrit language *alive* is the first and fundamental responsibility of all of us.
If Sanskrit is declared as 'Endangered', there will be no *Government funding or support* for its *development and expansion*. We may lose it *forever*.
Only our *Conscious Efforts* can keep Sanskrit alive.
